I slowly walked to Kourtnee’s office. I made it to her office at 12:05. Paula was sitting at her desk. She looked at me. I walked by without saying a word. She followed me into Kourtnee’s office. Paula said, “What are you doing here?” I responded, “I didn’t want to go to lunch with Kourtnee.” Paula paused for a moment and then asked, “Kourtnee said that you didn’t have to go?” I said, “Something like that.” Paula walked out of Kourtnee’s office.

I was sitting on the couch in Kourtnee’s office when Kourtnee walked into her office. She closed the door. I looked up at her. She looked at me.

(Kourtnee and LaDawnya)

LaDawnya: I thought you were going to lunch.

Kourtnee: I was going to lunch. I felt bad because of the way I left.

LaDawnya: Oh, you want to yell at me some more.

Kourtnee: Don’t start that again.

LaDawnya: Why not? You started it.

Kourtnee: LaDawnya, I just ask you a question. I didn’t know that you were going to take it wrong.

LaDawnya: How was I supposed to take it? I didn’t know that you were going to use me to fill some void in your life and then send me back.

Kourtnee: LaDawnya, that was mean.

LaDawnya: So was asking me what made me think I was going to be around you all the time?

Kourtnee: I apologize. It was insensitive of me to ask you that. I was only joking.

LaDawnya: It wasn’t funny. I had already thought that I had done something to upset you.

She put her hand on my shoulder. I moved my shoulder so her hand fell off my shoulder. She sighed.

Kourtnee: Do you want to go get something to eat?

LaDawnya: Don’t you want to go out with Martin?

Kourtnee: We rescheduled for tomorrow.

LaDawnya: I am not hungry.

Kourtnee: Do you want to go with me? I am hungry.

LaDawnya: No.

Kourtnee: We can go to Torrez.

I could tell that Kourtnee was really trying, but I was so upset.

Kourtnee: I know that you are very upset with me. I hope that you will be able to forgive me soon. I am going to get something to eat. If you want to go with me, you can.

Kourtnee kissed me on the cheek. When she wasn’t looking, I wiped my cheek off. Kourtnee waited to see if I was going with her. I didn’t move from the couch. Kourtnee and Paula left to go get something to eat.

In the 12th Floor Boardroom (Paula and Kourtnee)

Paula had called the café and had them deliver lunch for her and Kourtnee to the 12th floor boardroom.

Kourtnee: Paula, I really screwed up.

Paula: I can see that. Whatever you said to her, it upset it. What did you say?

Kourtnee: She asked me was I ever going to get married. I asked her what made her think that she was going to be around me forever.

Paula: Kourtnee, you didn’t. As much trouble as she has had in her life, you ask her that.

Kourtnee: Paula, I know. I don’t need you to tell me that!

Paula: I haven’t done anything to you, don’t get mad at me.

Kourtnee: I am not getting mad at you.

Colt walked in the boardroom. He walked towards Paula and Kourtnee. Colt looked mad.

Paula: Hello, Colt. How did you know we were up here?

Colt: Hey, Paula. Kourtnee, can I talk to you?

Kourtnee: Now?

Colt: Yes, now.

Kourtnee: Ok.

Paula got up from the table and left the room.

(Colt and Kourtnee)

Kourtnee: What was so important that you had to interrupt my lunch?

Colt: You have some sincere problems. I cannot believe you. You have done some stuff, but I didn’t know you could do something like this.

Kourtnee: Would you please calm down? What are you talking about?

Colt: You asked LaDawnya what made her think that she was going to be around me forever.

Kourtnee: She told you about that.

Colt: Yes, she did.

Kourtnee: Why would she tell you that?

Colt: The people who she did to talk to are not in her life anymore. She has to talk to someone.

Kourtnee: Colt, I didn’t mean it like she took it.

Colt: Yea, but you still shouldn’t have said it. I cannot believe that you would be that insensitive.

Kourtnee: I have already talked to her and I apologized to her.

Colt: You are truly unbelievable.

Kourtnee: You are so cute when you are upset.

Colt: Kourtnee, this is not the time.

Kourtnee: Everyone says that she acts a lot like me. She acts a lot like you, too.

Colt: Whatever Kourtnee.

Kourtnee: Paula has already fussed at me. She has done enough fussing. I have apologized to LaDawnya; it’s up to her now.

Colt did not respond. He just walked off. Kourtnee knew that she had really messed up. What was she going to do to fix this?
