A Week in Kourtnee’s World, That’s A Lot of Phone Calls

7-16-97, 4:33 PM

We purchased a stunning vase at Stakarski. I picked it out. Kourtnee let me get a heart wind chime at Stakarski. The vase was $340.00. The wind chime was $45.00. Kourtnee got herself a butterfly that I picked out for her. She has a thing for butterflies. The butterfly was on sale for $28.00. Kourtnee had the store gift wrap the vase for her mother.

Kourtnee and I drove to the Adams-Shields Foundation. We took the box into the office that had the vase in it. I asked Kourtnee could I give it to Mrs. Shields. Kourtnee told me no because the gift was from her. I made a face and she told me to stop making faces.

Kourtnee gave the box to her mother after we spoke to Mrs. Shields. Mrs. Shields opened the box. From the look on her face, I could tell that she liked the vase. She hugged Kourtnee and told her that she loved it. Kourtnee told her mother that she had to hug me too, because I was the one who picked the vase. Mrs. Shields said that I had good taste as she hugged me. Kourtnee twisted her lips. Mrs. Shields told Kourtnee to stop twisting her lips. I laughed. Mrs. Shields asked me did Kourtnee buy me something. I told her that Kourtnee had bought me a heart wind chime. Mrs. Shields asked did Kourtnee buy anything for herself. I told her what Kourtnee had bought. Mrs. Shields grimaced and told Kourtnee that she was not supposed to buy something for herself. Kourtnee shrugged her shoulders like I normally shrugged my shoulders. Mrs. Shields said that shoulders shrugs only worked if you were 14. I laughed again.

Kourtnee and I left the foundation and headed towards Shimmers, Inc. to get our stuff. When we got up to her office, Paula handed her a stack of messages. Kourtnee went into her office and looked at the stack of messages. She said that she had to make some phone calls. Kourtnee made phone calls until 6:45 PM.
