Original Entry Date: 10.12.02 Day Camp (Week Three) Original Date: 6-28-97 It was the Saturday of the picnic. I had called and left a message for Arlene and Kent,
but they never called me back. Ms. Shields was busy on Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Adams were
out of town. Colt promised to try and stop by the picnic. I wasn't sure that he would.
Kourtnee and Paula were required to be there because they were involved in Day Camp. They
didn't count as guests. I was hoping that Colt would show up. Kourtnee and I left the house about two hours before the picnic was going to start.
Kourtnee had to check on the arrangements at the picnic. The picnic was going to be held
at the CRC Park. It was a lovely day for a picnic. The sun was shining and birds were singing. When we
got to the park, there were people setting up tables, chairs, food, and games. After about thirty minutes, people began to arrive. There were children and adults all
over the place. I saw Shauna and went over to say hi to her. She had brought her mother
and brother. Her brother was about 8 years old. He had the prettiest little brown eyes.
She introduced me, and then we ran off to find LaVelle and Dakini. After Shauna and I
found Dakini and LaVelle, I was introduced to Dakini's and LaVelle's parents and LaVelle's
older sister. LaVelle's sister looked as if she did not want to be there. I saw T-Mark. He
had his stereo with him. He had brought his older brother with him. I said, "Hi. Is
Stefun coming to the picnic?" T-Mark said, "I don't know. Am I in my boy's
draws?" He looked at his brother and they laughed. As I began walking away, T-Mark
said, "I don't think he is coming." All the kids ran around the park for a while. After we had finished running around the
park, it was time to eat. The food was served. We had hot dogs and hamburgers. Shauna's
little brother went to the table about three or four times. I think he ate about five hot
dogs. LaVelle's sister still looked uninterested. I was playing a game of kickball when Kourtnee walked over to me. She told me that she
had to leave. She then told me that Paula would give me a ride home. I said okay and went
back to the game. I watched her walked off and wondered where she was going. It was finally time to go. I said goodbye to everyone and went to find Paula. After I
found Paula, we walked to her car. I asked her where Kourtnee had gone. She said that she
didn't know. I rode in the car in silence. Paula didn't say much either. (I guess she was
tired.) Colt never showed up at the picnic. He called me at home later on. He gave me an
excuse. His reason for not coming was that he had to go to the plant because they were
having a problem with something. Oh well, I didn't have a guest at the picnic. |
